Many couples have never had professional photographs taken of them before and engagement shoots are totally different to what we will capture at their wedding. It’s also a good time for us to get to know each other a little better and for the couple to see that it doesn’t have to be stressful at all having their photo taken. In fact, most couples agree that it’s actually good fun and that helps them relax on the wedding day, and that leads to better wedding photos.
I always sit down with a couple before the wedding over a cup of coffee so we can plan a detailed itinerary of the day with lots of flexibility built in to allow for weather changes. This is a perfect time to arrange an engagement shoot at the same time so that we can get to know each other even more and work out what makes the couple click in front of the camera. It also means, with enough pre-planning, we can organise a beautiful Signature Board for the couple to display at their wedding so the guests can sign around it - a really different alternative to a guest book and one that works as a piece of wall art for years to come.
I like to think of children and grandchildren enjoying looking through engagement photographs of the time their parent/grandparents were getting ready to get married. What a lovely recording of your love affair together!

Frequently Asked Questions
You’re not alone and yes, I can help. I work to make your photo shoot relaxed so I can get to know you and do my best to put you at ease. I’ve been photographing professionally for over fifteen years now, so I know where to look for the best light whilst also helping you to stand, lean, relax, smile, and… just be you. That’s when the magic happens.
I have extensive experience of over fifteen years of photographing clients all over the world. Celebrity shoots include: Jo Malone at Bafta; Eddie The Eagle; Princess Michael of Kent; Duchess of Rutland; Kathy Lette - to name a few.
Plus, I’m married to a fellow photographer, which means you can choose to have two professional and highly experienced photographers at your wedding or event.
Capturing a good image of someone means understanding how to take a well-lit, flattering, relaxed and carefully positioned photo. As a professional, I know how to achieve this and I also know how to edit and delete the ones that don’t show you in the best light.
I use Canon prime lenses – light, unimposing and quiet. I always look for natural light but I’m not afraid to use flash where necessary to capture the most flattering shots.
Yes! I love exploring new venues and locations. I have travelled all over with my wonderful job so if you’re planning a wedding or event further afield, I’d love to come along.
